Time, that which traverses our ancient world unabated
Turning man’s monuments into broken stone,
Perhaps teaching us where is the purest of gold
Not frail on the outside, but mighty within our soul

A vessel has no secured hope that it will last a storm
But a soul has a God given gift of light to behold
To turn darkness into something greater, a light whose shining is untold
For there is no strength without adversity, and neither is there gold

Hence it is not out there where one looks for what is precious
Nor should one escape from oneself when life is demanding
Look within and bear the weight for there is no other calling
For it is facing the end that one finds a new beginning

In the eternal dance of darkness and light
